Birthday Fixins Bags
BIRTHDAY FIXINS Bags are basically a birthday party in a bag. Each bag contains items such as cake mix, frosting, candles, plates, napkins & cups, balloons, and a gift, basically everything a family would need to hold a birthday celebration at home.
When a family is struggling to put food on the table an upcoming birthday becomes a source of stress, not joy. We want to turn that around and bring joy back, providing a sense of normalcy.
These bags are distributed through partner agencies, such as local food banks and social work agencies, and also directly to families experiencing financial hardship.
If you are parent and would like to request a BIRTHDAY FIXINS bag for your child, please fill out the request at least 10 days before your child's birthday. **Filling out the form does not automatically guarantee a bag. If we are able to process your request, a volunteer will be in touch with you to coordinate pick up or delivery.

Shelter Parties
Every month volunteers with The Birthday Joy Program host birthday parties for children residing in homeless shelters and group homes. These children are in crisis at the most vulnerable time of their lives, their childhood. Many have never had a birthday party or even a birthday cake. At these parties each child with a birthday for the month is celebrated with all the other children in shelter the party guests. TBJP volunteers run the party consisting of games, prizes, cake & ice cream, food and drinks.
Between 75-120 children attend TBJP birthday parties each month. Every child celebrating a birthday receives a gift based on their likes/hobbies as well as a personalized pillow.
Joy Bags
Joy Bags are supplied to partner schools who have a high population of low-income families. Each child is given a Joy Bag on their birthday that includes a new book, a Whataburger coupon, and two small toy items.
